Would you honestly risk your life to save a stranger?
I am have done it numerous times. I was wondering has anyone else ever saved someone's life for no reason (including it was your job) at the risk of your own? thats not a stranger and that wasn't really life threatening, but thanks for responding once again I am very impressed that you did such a noble deed, but you didn't do it for a stranger. This is a psychological study. I am wondering if anyone else in the world would risk their life for someone that is totally unrelated, even someone they despise. thank you for fighting for our country.

- well i got caught cheating when it wasnt me who wanted to do it, my friends told me to do it.....and i didnt rat on them.
- YES
- honestly, no I wouldn't but I mean, it depends on what it was. I have never had that situation before, I would defintly help a stranger, but I don't know if I'd risk my life. I'd like to say yes, but if I was in the situation I probably would not
- yes. an infinity+1 times. i have only risked my life once and only did it for my bestfriends pet(puppy!!) i hated the dog and always will. but yeah i jumped in front of a car to push him outta the way. i guess tho that was a few years after my dog got loose ran across the street to sniff a passerby. i yelled at him to come back and a jerk purposely sped up to hit my dog. i was very young and it has scarred me. it must have been an instant reaction. i know how much she loved her dog no matter how much i hated it. i loved my dog no matter how much some jerk wanted to see him spiral across the road if it had been a human yes i wouldhave
- Experience has taught me that I don't know myself as well as I assumed I did. I've risked my life to help people I didn't know at times, and other times, similar situations even, I didn't. It had a lot more to do with whether I was expecting the situation to arise, where I was in relation to the "strangers," and how I was assessing the threat to my life at the time. The "no reason" qualifier exempts my answer I suppose, because I was a soldier. But there was never any recognized benefit to doing it in the situations I had. As for a hypothetical, I know enough now to know that I can't really predict. The circumstances would have so much an effect on my perception of the event, that I have no clue what I'd do in any given situation. I prefer to think the best of myself though.
- i was abused by my ex for ten years finally got out of the realtionship 2 years ago i was in town and saw this couple fighting the man started beating the women and i ran and jumped in the middle she was pregnant i got pretty messed up but i kept her from being beat any worse than she already was this guy was drunk and from experiance i know they have no stop button when they r like that i didnt think before i did it i just did it and i would do it again. there is no real reason why we do it its in some of our nature
- No...unless it's a child under 10, or a family person and I was single and what not...
- yes
- I think I would. And If it was something happening right in front of me I hope I wouldn't freeze. And I know I can answer this for my dad if he was still alive. He was a firefighter and one time impaticular when he and his crew arrived at a house fire he was the only sr. man on the truck, the rest were rookies. When they responded to a house fire fully involved there was a little boy trapped inside. The Young rookies froze. My dad put on his scott tank ( breathing apparatus) ran to the picture window and threw himself through the glass picked up the child and stepped back out of the burning house. Both were fine. I can also answer for my uncle who was the lieutenant on his truck he died in the line of duty while trying to save peoples homes that were burning. So did my other uncle while saving an Alzheimer's victim who was lost.
